This is going to be kind-of long.
I started a post mid-SXSW but was so exhausted that I kept falling asleep while typing. I could have sworn I saved it as a draft, but *POOF* it’s not there. I only vaguely remember what I was saying, but I am sure it had something to do with how much I enjoyed my small brushes with the Interactive and Film portions of the festival and how much I’ve come to dread the Music portion. It probably has something to do with me getting old, disliking [smelly] crowds, and general disappointment in the state of popular music. I mentioned to someone that it seems the more interested I have become in film the less interested I have become in new, live music. It probably also had something to do with how a random Twitter request for help with a place to stay during SXSW Film turned into tons of fun with new friends, Tom and Andy. I really hope they come back for aGLIFF in September!

Another SXSW bright spot was Lauren x 2 (Flax & Dillard), better known as Creep. I hadn’t seen Flax in years, so it was awesome to see her. It was my first time meeting Dillard and I <3 her! Their visit was sort-of whirlwind, which stinks. I hope I’ll get a chance to hop over to the City and visit both of them when Lazer and I are up in Long Island come August.

On a totally different topic, a thought I’ve had several times before came to me again today. I would love to start a non-profit design coalition with the sole purpose of redesigning and copyediting the menus. I cry inside each time I see a menu marred by cheap clip art, crappy typography, and typos. Who’s with me?
